2025 Dairy Show Schedule

Our goats participate in various shows to exhibit their exceptional genetics and beauty. We take pride in showcasing the best of our herd to enthusiasts and judges alike. We have an extensive schedule this show season. We can't wait to share our results, and to see everyone out at shows this year.

Coeur d'Alene Fuzzies ADGA Show

Our first show of the season. It is being held locally in Coeur d'Alene, ID on May 10th. Our current plan is to take our 3 senior does, and possibly up to 5 junior does based on who we get from Kidding Season. Personally, hoping for at least one Nevermore Daughter.

* We were able to take a good majority of our herd to see how they would fair in a show and the environment around it. Luckily, Nevermore decided to grace us with a singular doeling that has been doing amazing in temperament and development so far, and we are excited to see how she develops. This show also helped solidify our plans for the WYDGA Fuzzy Show over Memorial Day Weekend. *

WYDGA Fuzzy ADGA Show

Our second show of the season. It will be the first big show that we will be attending. Hopefully, we will be coming home with ribbons and rosettes from show rings (both boy and girl) and milk competitions. It will be held over Memorial Day weekend.

*We had an amazing time down in Wyoming, and we learned so much. We took six goats with us (two baby bucks, two junior does, and our two senior does). While the older girls didn't do as well as we were wishing, the littles came to win it all. They blew my expectations of them out of the water. Due to placements at this show, we have pivoted a little on who we are taking for the Barn in the USA ADGA Show. We are waiting on Nevermore's One-Day Milk Test Competition Results*

NEWDGA ADGA Show

One of our nice local shows. The NEWDGA show is a 3-Ring Show that is going to be held in Clayton, WA this year on June 21st.

*I had a rough time as this show. Due to scheduling errors, my main rock star showman was unable to assist me, so I was riding solo. I feel like I did okay being left unsupervised for the first time. Nevermore was having weight issues due to us not weaning early enough as well as her udder not being filled as I would have liked having been switched to once per day milking. This show definitely taught me a few lessons that we will be implementing this year.*

Barn in the USA ADGA Show

A bigger show in Ridgefield, WA that we found. We decided to substitute the smaller show in Hamilton, MT with it. The main reason is that it is a 3-ring main show on Saturday versus a 2-ring show and that the Friday festivities are a Youth Exhibitor Only Sanctioned 2-ring show.

*We had a great time as this show, and our 4Her loved being able to compete against other youth to see how our does compare. While Nevermore was gaining weight back, she still didn't fill out as we hoped for this show. Unfortunately, we had to bring her since we didn't have anyone to milk her at home. We are hoping that since this is her first show season, that she will not be as stressed traveling next year.*

North Idaho State Fair ADGA Show

The busiest time of the year for us. The North Idaho State Fair is our local fair that not only our family participates in for Open Class but our 4Her is showcasing her projects for the rest of the week. It is a one-ring show that should be on August 15th in Coeur d'Alene, ID.

*The end of our show season, I way both thankful it was upon us as well as a little sad. Our placing this year were not exactly what we hoped for, but it gave us a great starting place to see where our program needs to be improved. We dried up all our Senior Does early for the year to help with weight issues that cropped up this show season, so we only showed some of our Junior does.*

North Idaho State Fair- Youth Stock Show and Sale

The time for our 4Her to shine, and myself to become the worried spectator. During this week long portion of the North Idaho State Fair, all work had to be done by our 4Her. This is to show the commitment of the youth to the welfare and benefit of their animal. All youth are only able to show one animal per species, so it was decided that she would use one of our Junior Does.

2025 Market Show Schedule

Our Market Goats are a 4H Project full of Love, Sweat, and Frustration. We have a big year planned for both Chilli and Bingo with our 4Her. Every show is a way to showcase her hard work, and to gain experience at every turn. We can't wait to see how they will do.

208 Qualifier Livestock Exabition

Our first Market Show is at the end of April. We can't wait to see how a market show is run and the differences between Market and Dairy. Our 4Her is going into it, hoping and working for Belt Buckles.

*A market jackpot was a different experience. While Bingo, Chilli, or our 4Her didn't place in quality or showmanship, it helped give us an idea of what to expect for jackpots. We also started to learn that the experience will help for our fair no matter what*

2

Kootenai Classic Livestock Show

One of the biggest shows of the Intermountain Show series. It is a double points show that we are excited for. This June show also has double the opportunities for Showmanship practice for our fair.

*We have no placing, but learned a lot about the different types of hair care. One of the judges did comment on how great of an effort our 4Her put into her goats boots*

3

Mike Mead Youth Livestock Show

A small day show in July that we are going to attend over in Conell, WA, for showmanship practice and prizes (hopefully buckles and banners)

*We only took Chilli to this show to start prepping him to being our 4her's fair goat. Chilli was doing the best personality wise, and had the great weight gain.*

4

Palouse Jackpot Show

Close to home experience to be found in Moscow, ID. This is the last practice before the North Idaho State Fair in August.

*Our last practice was a success before fair. Our 4Her and Chilli took 6th in multiple showmanship competitions, and had a honorable mention in quality. The main critique was that they needed more drive (confidence in the ring) and they were getting there toward the end of the Jackpot. In total, they did 3 showmanships and 1 quality competition before fair.*

5

North Idaho State Fair Open Class Show

The Open Class show happens right at the beginning of North Idaho State Fair for the first 3 days. It is designed to allow kids and adults to compete and learn without the pressure of a registered show. As of now, it is scheduled for August 16th-18th.

*It was time to put my money where my mouth was. During the open class show quality, both boys went through quality. Our 4Her had Chilli and I had Bingo. The main comment that we gained to help us need year it that the Judge would like to see them more filled out. Both the boys were leaner then I would have liked. Chilli help score an honorable mention in showmanship, and Bingo and I went on to get Grand Champion in the Adult Showmanship division. It was a good experience for all, and helped Chilli start getting used to the fairgrounds before the Youth/4H competitions start later in the week*

6

North Idaho State Fair- Youth Stock Show and Sale

The last show of the season since we were unable to get registered for the Spokane Interstate Fair on time this year.

*Bingo went home as the spare and Chilli stayed as the main event. Our 4Her and Chilli placed middle of the pack in quality and she was able to sell him for $10/lb. at Auction. We are so grateful to the amazing buyers that made it happen. Our 4Her was able to recoup all of her costs, as well as make about $50 in profit. Needless to say, we are doing Market Goats again next year. They didn't placed in Showmanship, but our 4Her had a great time so she wasn't too disappointed.*
